Trend Report: Out of this world…

Our love of space goes all the way back to ancient times, when the Greeks mapped out the constellations of the night sky, and as the excitement over this month’s ‘supermoon’ shows, our passion for the astronomical continues today. The moon isn’t the only celestial body holding our interest, continued exploration of Mars has made headlines throughout 2016. Meanwhile, advancements like British astronaut Tim Peake’s six month-long stay at the International Space Station earlier this year makes the crossing of the ‘final frontier’ seem closer than ever.

However, for the moment we earthbound folk are content to get our space-fix wherever we can. Out of this world tales are currently filling the silver and small screens, and we’re even wearing our starry dreams on our sleeves, as designs emblazoned with celestial details parade down the runway, while clothes featuring NASA’s iconic logo have made a splash on the high street.

Space’s influence has also made its way into our homes, inspiring clean, futuristic interior design schemes, galactic prints and zodiac wall art. Trend Alert: Spirit-ed Scents

Boozy fragrances are now officially en vogue with beauty giants like Marc Jacobs and Tom Ford releasing alcohol-scented perfumes. However, for many of us spending the day wafting around the scent of whisky is not exactly ideal. Another way to incorporate the trend is to bring the scent of spirits into the home, where the smell of the alcohol-inspired fragrance Cognac and Leather adds a relaxed and luxurious air.

Spooky scents for Hallowe’en

If you’re looking for a Hallowe’en home fragrance that’s a little more unique than the usual pumpkin spice, whipping up your own special scent may be the answer.

It’s Beginning to Smell a Lot Like Christmas…

It’s official, Christmas is on. We know, we know, it seems to begin earlier and earlier each year, but it really is well and truly on now. Don’t believe us? Just glance out of your window and gaze in wonderment at the Christmas lights which have popped up on the high street. When were they put up? No one knows. They simply appear each year. Take a look at the shops, too. They’re filling! Christmas shoppers, pop-up Christmas sections, they’re all there. This divides the nation into two sides. There’s the first, those who roll their eyes and point out that “bonfire night is barely over”, and the second, who instinctively break into a chorus of “I don’t want a lot for Christmas…” at the first sight of a bauble.
