Ashleigh & Burwood’s evocative new ‘Escapology’ range of scented candles and reed diffusers invites you on an aromatic journey to some of the world’s most captivating locations…
With the state of the economy and the build up to the May election, and indeed issues that are serious on a global level like climate change and terrorist attacks, trends associated to escapism are increasingly relevant, and are at a peak this season. The increase in gaming and the stable state of the holiday market, despite a global recession, are just two indicators that people are striving to do things that feed the senses and make them feel good! Consumers believe products that merge occasions or experiences, and that ultimately amplify the senses, add value – which is powerful stuff.
Olfaction (the sense of smell), is a human’s first formed sense and arguably the most powerful of the five senses. It is closely linked with memory, probably more so than any of our other senses. We can all think of smells that evoke particular memories; the scent of an orchard in blossom conjuring up recollections of a childhood picnic, for example. This can often happen spontaneously, with a smell acting as a trigger in recalling a long-forgotten event or experience. In addition to being the sense most closely linked to memory, smell is also highly emotive.
Here at Ashleigh & Burwood we have harnessed this hot trend with the development of our new Escapology collection, a range of destination themed fragrances that are evocative of some of the world’s most captivating locations. From Koh Samui to the Seychelles, Madagascar to Morocco, each fragrance has been painstakingly developed to whisk you away on a voyage of discovery, enlivening the senses and relaxing the mind.
Products in the range include scented candles, reed diffusers and a brand new ‘Luxury Home Fragrance Collection’, which packages a 50ml Reed Diffuser with two Votive Candles, for the ultimate gift or self-indulgence.
The six scents in the range are:
