Father’s Day is fast approaching – its next Sunday (17th June) in case you’ve missed it on your calendar – so here are our picks for refined, fragranced gifts that Dad will love. Wild Things… More
Scent memories are the muses behind our new fragrances for Spring/Summer this year, including the sultry White Velvet. A glamorous blend of velvety white flowers and rich sandalwood, White Velvet is inspired by the favourite perfume of our Customer Operations Advisor Salvina’s best friend – a scent that is entwined with all her happy memories of their friendship.
Like the inspiration behind White Velvet, many of us have a ‘signature’ scent which plays an important role in shaping other people’s recollections of us, especially as small sniff of a familiar fragrance can bring back a rush of memories. But despite the popularity of the signature perfume, not many of us apply the same idea to our homes. A signature home fragrance can be just as powerful in influencing memory and in cultivating a desired mood in your home. When picking a signature perfume we often gravitate towards the aspirational, choosing a scent that represents who we want to be and how we want others to see us and home fragrance is no different. A signature home scent should encompass your aspirations for your home whether that’s a cosy warming scent to evoke a hygge-esque, comforting ambience or an airy, fresh fragrance to accompany modern, minimalist décor.
Create your signature home fragrance by building layers of fragrance throughout the home. Reed Diffusers will create a long-lasting layer of subtly enhancing background fragrance ideal for rooms you spend less time in like the hallway or the bathroom. If you have a large space to fragrance or need a quick and powerful fragrance boost before guests arrive, a Fragrance Lamp’s effective scenting is the way to go. Finally, Scented Candles will create an enjoyable scent and a comfortable atmosphere that’s best suited for rooms you tend to relax in like the lounge or bedroom. For the same reasons Scented Candles are great for small, intimate gatherings, adding a memorable scent and a glowing, friendly ambiance.

Just in time for the launch of our three new Wild Things next week, we’re sharing with you a few snaps from earlier this month when the Ashleigh & Burwood Team headed up to Birmingham’s NEC with a surprise guest in tow!
We were there for Spring Fair 2018, where we exhibited our new products for 2018 to trade stockists and the press and our new zebra friend spent the day posing for the cameras to promote the new I Zee You Baby Wild Things design.
Thanks to everyone who visited us at the Fair and took a ‘zelfie’ with our stripy pal!
You’ll be able to get your hooves on Wild Things’ I Zee You Baby Luxury Scented Candles, Reed Diffusers and Refills next week!
We love gifting here at Ashleigh & Burwood, especially when it involves something as personal and timeless as fragrance. Fragrance is intrinsically linked to our memories and the perfect fragranced gift stays with the recipient for years, the scent always reminding them of a treasured moment.
With just under a week to go, here are our choices for beautifully scented gifts to share with your loved one on Valentine’s Day.
The warm glow of candlelight is well-known for its romantic ambience while flowers are a go-to Valentine’s classic, so a floral scented candle is a sweet nod to the traditions of the holiday. Blossoming peonies like those found in this fragrance from our Artistry Collection are a popular fragrance trend and a beautiful, modern alternative to the rose.
This glittering hand-crafted Fragrance Lamp, decorated with a mosaic of dusky crimson and romantic rose glass, would be a fantastic gift for any lover of sparkle and shine. Beautiful and with the power of impressive fragrance, this iridescent Lamp is paired with the airy, nostalgic scent of Fresh Linen.
The classic symbol of romance is given a fresh twist in this reed diffuser from The Scented Home. The velvety scent of rose is blended with lily, narcissus and geranium to create a soft, romantic scent perfect for showing your affection on Valentine’s Day.
No red roses or love hearts here, but this Wild Things Pinemingos candle is a great choice for any wildlife lover or fan of quirky, exotic design. Featuring a super-trendy collage of funky flamingos and tropical pineapples topped with a gleaming old lid, the scent of coconut and lychee conjures up a beautiful island getaway.

Best of 2017
A New Look
One of our biggest undertakings of 2017 was the launch of a redesigned new look for our heritage collection of Fragrance Lamps, Fragrance Oils and Incense and The Scented Home collection of Reed Diffusers. After months of planning, we were very proud of our makeover, which included a new monogram and logo. We were thrilled with the positive reaction the new chevron designs received and think the start of 2018 has us looking better than ever!
While, most of us start the New Year with a firm resolve to make positive changes, as the days go by it gets harder and harder to keep up with our good intentions and put off our bad habits. Fragrance has long been used in aromatherapy to influence mood and create a positive mind-set, whether your resolution is taking time to de-stress, getting a better night’s sleep or giving up smoking, therapeutic Essential Oils can help you on your way. With a 20% saving on our Essential Oil Lamp Fragrances when you spend over £30, see which Essential Oils could help you in achieving your goals.
I want to… relax
The Christmas period can be filled with all kinds of stressors, from present shopping, to awkward family reunions to cooking the perfect dinner on the big day. If your resolution for the New Year is to fight off stress and take more time to relax and focus on your wellbeing, try our Relaxation blend. A floral scent combining soft geranium, calming lavender and clary sage to encourage a soothed and relaxed mood.
I want to… quit smoking
Quitting smoking is great for your health and your wallet so it’s no wonder this is one of the most popular New Year’s resolutions. Unfortunately there’s no magic scent to remove the cravings for cigarettes, but our Anti-Tobacco blend is designed to ease your temptations by banishing the lingering scent of smoke from the home, leaving behind a fresh scent of juniper, cedarwood and pine.
I want to… get a good night
Sleep problems or not getting enough rest can be hugely disruptive in our day to day lives as tiredness makes us grumpy, unfocused and upset. If your resolution has been to improve your wellbeing with a great night’s sleep our Sleep blend of essential oils can help. Created from a blend of relaxing lavender, pettigrain and gentle sage, Sleep can help relieve stress preventing you from getting enough rest and create a calm mood ideal for drifting off.

The delicate illustrations adorning the Artistry Collection reflect the creativity and fragrance design at the heart of the collection. Designer Philippa Steele tells us about the inspirations and techniques used to create the unique, hand-illustrated designs.
What’s your history with Ashleigh & Burwood?
I’ve been working at Ashleigh & Burwood since 2014, starting out as a Junior Designer, straight from university. My time at the company has allowed me to practice many aspects of design and I now work as a Designer within the New Product Development Team.
What were the inspirations behind the artwork for the Artistry Collection?
The inspiration behind each artwork is always the fragrance itself. The product development team brainstormed and we all came up with the original concept together. We wanted to keep some photographic element to the design, but combine it with a more personable and trend-led illustrative touch.
What feel did you want to bring to the collection with the artwork?
We wanted to have a kind of playful colourfulness to make it eye-catching, but also give it a grown up, sophisticated and unique style. I think that the different layers and textures of the design appeal to the senses, evoking the sense of smell as much as a visual representation can.
How did you create the artwork?
They were created using pencils and the computer. It’s hand drawn outline sketches combined with photography and splashes of watercolour. It’s quite a unique combination.
Had you any experience with this style of design beforehand?
I’ve always loved art and have been drawing and sketching my whole life. But combining the sketches with photography this way is something I have never done or really seen the process of it being done before, so it was a very interesting and fun challenge.
Do you have a favourite and why?
That’s like making me choose a favourite child! I love them all equally!
